BodyBoost Physio: Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a physiotherapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re dealing with pain, injury, or uncertainty about what your body needs. To make things easier, I’ve put together answers to the questions I’m asked most often in the clinic.

These are simple, clear explanations to help you feel confident before you even walk through the door.

1. Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is needed. You can book directly whenever you’re ready. If your GP or specialist has recommended physiotherapy, you’re welcome to bring any notes or scans.

We also accept EPC/Chronic Disease Management Plans if you have one arranged through your GP.

2. What happens during my first appointment?

Your first session is all about understanding you. We’ll talk through your symptoms, your lifestyle, and your goals. Then we’ll assess how you move, identify what’s contributing to your pain, and begin treatment straight away. You’ll leave with a clear plan and practical steps to start improving.

 3. What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily, activewear, leggings, shorts, or anything you feel relaxed in.

4. How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Some people feel better after 4 to 5 sessions; others benefit from a longer plan. You’ll always get an honest recommendation, no pressure, no unnecessary appointments.

 5. Can I still exercise while I’m injured?

In most cases, yes. Movement is often part of the recovery process. We’ll talk about what’s safe, what to avoid, and how to keep your body active without aggravating your symptoms.

6. Do you treat chronic or long-term pain?

Yes. Many people come in after months or years of discomfort. Together, we work on understanding the root cause, improving movement patterns, and building confidence in your body again.

 7. Can I claim through private health insurance?

Yes, if your fund covers physiotherapy, you can claim on the spot.

8. Do you see Work Cover, CTP, and DVA patients?

Yes. We regularly see patients under:

  • Work Cover (Workplace injuries)

  • CTP (Motor vehicle accident claims)

  • DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs)

If you’re covered under any of these schemes, bring your claim details or approval letter, and we’ll guide you through the process.

9.What conditions do you treat?

BodyBoost Physio treats a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, including:

  • Neck pain and stiffness

  • Lower back pain

  • Shoulder injuries

  • Hip and glute pain

  • Knee pain

  • Ankle and foot injuries

  • Muscle strains and ligament sprains

  • Tendon pain (tendinopathy)

  • Postural discomfort

  • Workplace‑related aches

  • Sports injuries

  • General movement or mobility issues

If it relates to joints, muscles, movement, or pain, we can help.

10.What types of treatment do you use?

Treatment is always tailored to your body and your goals. Depending on what you need, sessions may include:

  • Hands‑on therapy

  • Dry needling

  • Exercise‑based rehabilitation

  • Movement retraining

  • Posture and ergonomic advice

  • Strategies to help you manage symptoms between sessions

Everything is explained clearly so you always feel comfortable and in control.

11.What makes BodyBoost Physio different?

A calm, welcoming environment. A personalised approach. At BodyBoost Physio, we’re committed to providing care that truly supports you.
